SWAN Day Interviews at the Conference

No Name Players, a non-profit theatre company based in Pittsburgh, produces an event every March in celebration of SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day. The event features Pittsburgh-based musicians, dancers, poets, theatre artists, visual artists, performance artists and fashion designers. In addition to celebrating women artists, it is also No Name Players’ goal to create connections within the female community at large.

For its 2012 event, No Name Players will be travelling across the state of Pennsylvania to talk to women of all ages and from all backgrounds, asking them to share what being a woman in today’s world means to them. What are their struggles, their successes, their issues of greatest concern, their dreams for the future? What does “living fearlessly” mean to them? They will film these discussions and provide that footage to participating SWAN Day artists. The artists will then create brand new plays, songs, artwork, dance pieces and more using that footage as inspiration.

The entire SWAN Day event will consist of world premiere works inspired by the thoughts of women from all across Pennsylvania. The event will take place March 15th and 16th, 2012 at The New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh.

No Name Players will be at the 2011 Pennsylvania Conference for Women on October 25 interviewing attendees. If you see them, stop by and share your thoughts on what it means to be a fearless woman!
