On Ditching Stress & Growing Your Resilience

April is “Stress Awareness Month,” and boy are we aware that life as a working woman can be stressful! That’s why we dipped into the recent Conference archives to bring you some actually-useful advice on managing stress, from real women who have struggled and succeeded in finding some kind of balance.

Speakers on the “Burnout Recovery” panel at the 2019 Watermark Conference for Women—a business professor, a tech entrepreneur, a personal finance expert and a corporate D&I manager—offered up four really easy habits that you—yes, you—can build into your day now(Step one: Take ownership of your own precious time.)

If you’d like some perspective to go with your stress-busting advice, check out what pro runner and Olympian Desiree Linden had to say at last December’s MA Conference for Women. Linden managed to win the 2018 Boston marathon—her 6th attempt—despite the fact that weather conditions were historically bad and it had been over 30 years since an American had broken the tape. (The folks at Runner’s World published an inspiring race recap that you should probably read before you get sucked into a Tuesday full of meetings.) The choice that ultimately made the difference in Linden’s race may surprise you.

Listen to Courtney Carver and you will soon find yourself believing what her experience shows to be true: If you take a little time for yourself every day, and experiment with some of her “soulful simplicity” tips, you will feel more relaxed—and be more effective at whatever you do.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that this month, the former workaholic and current author of Soulful Simplicity and Simple Ways to Be More with Less, will:

Good luck out there—we’ll see you in May!
