SHANNON BARNA is an experienced leader with over 25 years of experience in Executive Recruiting, with a special focus on succession planning and talent pipelining, both outside of the pharma industry, and within Biotech and Big Pharma. Shannon has been with BMS since May 2012.
Shannon is currently the Executive Recruiter for Global Executive Talent Acquisition Commercial, Medical and Hematology. In this capacity, she focuses on developing and executing strategic and innovative executive recruitment strategies across the organization. This includes supporting executive talent pipelining activities for both open positions and succession planning roles to enable robust executive bench strength against talent management outcomes.
Throughout her career, patients have always been at the center of what she does. By placing top-tier talent in business-critical roles, she knows that patients are one step closer to receiving life changing and oftentimes lifesaving, therapeutics. This is what drives Shannon every day.
Prior to BMS, Shannon worked for Sanofi (formerly Aventis) as the Sourcing & Recruiting Strategy Lead where she managed the North American Sourcing & Recruiting Team as well as directed, planned and implemented the Sourcing/Recruiting Strategy.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders, from University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI.
