When asked if bungy-jumping was fun, I say “Not really!”

But it was terrifying, thrilling, and transformational. Immediately refusing the plunge, my whole world changed when a friend asked, “Why not?”

Conquering that fear allowed me to pursue a master’s degree and a career I’m passionate about—international development—despite the pending doom of loans. It pushed me to volunteer and live internationally. The world is ahead of me and I thank my friend who invited me to conquer what I deemed impossible. In an abstract way, I owe my success, challenges, accomplishments, and wisdom to a beautiful, terrifying mountaintop bungy.
