Autumn Adkins Graves

Autumn Adkins Graves serves Girard College as its sixteenth president. Graves comes to Girard College from Friends Seminary, in Manhattan, where she was assistant principal. Prior to Friends Seminary, she was Dean of the Upper School at Sidwell Friends, in Washington, DC. She began her career at the Mercersburg Academy, in Mercersburg, PA, as the director of special programs, later moving on to the Breck School. The May 2010, O Magazine named Graves as a “Woman to Watch” for this Decade and in May 2011 the Philadelphia Business Journal named her to its “40 under 40” list. She serves on several boards including The Shipley School, the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, and The Library Company. Graves received her bachelor’s from the University of Virginia in 1994 and a master’s degree in education administration with a focus on Private School Leadership at Columbia University’s Teacher’s College in 2000. She also holds a certificate in fundraising from New York University.
