Norrinda Brown Hayat

Norrinda Brown Hayat is lawyer by day and round-the-clock entrepreneur, who splits her time between Washington D.C. where she is an attorney with the federal government, and her hometown of Philadelphia where she runs the city’s most beloved bakery, Brown Betty Dessert Boutique. After college, she went on to practice law, working with firms including Hogan & Hartson, DLA Piper Rudnick and Booth & Tucker. In 2004, and after a series of cake tastings and focus groups, Brown Betty Dessert Boutique’s first and flagship location was opened on Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties.  The vintage-modern bakery quickly became the go-to spot for cakes, cupcakes and other sweets.  Hayat graduated from Dartmouth College in 1999 with an A.B. in History and then from law school at the University of Virginia in 2002@brownbettydb
