Michele Szkolnicki is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 20 years’ experience. She joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in 2007. As senior vice president of patient care services, Szkolnicki oversees more than 150 nurses and eight other hospital departments. Prior to joining CTCA, she served as the chief operating officer of Drexel University Physicians at the Drexel University College of Medicine. Szkolnicki’s major accomplishments at CTCA include leading the effort to switch from paper records to electronic health records, starting CTCA’s clinical research department and IRB, implementing the World Health Organizations Surgical Safety checklist and helping the hospital achieve an outstanding 90% computerized physician order entry (CPOE) rate. She is a member of several professional organizations and frequently speaks at conferences and programs throughout the country.
