Esther J. Nash, MD brings over two decades of physician executive experience to her role as vice president of clinical innovation and strategy at OptumHealthSM (a division of United Health Group). OptumHealth helps over 60 million people stay healthy, get healthy or live with chronic conditions. Dr. Nash came to OptumHealth from 11 years as senior medical director, Population Health and Wellness at Independence Blue Cross. Dr. Nash received both her B.S. and M.D. degrees from Brown University, where she received the Jean Glasgow Award for graduating first in her medical school class.  She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at The Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nash holds board-certification from both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. She has earned the designation as a Certified Managed Care Executive from the American Association of Health Plans and Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records from Health IT Certification, and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.
