Comcast and the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) are committed to ensuring young people are equipped for future success. This summer, when Covid-19 threatened to end vital summer jobs programs for young people in Philadelphia, PYN and partners acted quickly to digitally overhaul the entire summer system of programs in a few short weeks. In this Learning Burst, PYN’s President and CEO, Chekemma J. Fulmore-Townsend, shares what she learned about making hard choices, leading a team, and finding the path forward in challenging circumstances.

Design Thinking empowers individuals or teams to design products, services, systems, or experiences that address the core needs of those experiencing a problem. The non-profit organization BUILD will walk you through the key steps of this human-centered framework for solving big problems, including empathy, ideation, prototyping, testing, and defining.
