2019 Attendees: Important Logistical Information

It's time to plan.

We’re getting ready to knock your socks off at the 2019 Pennsylvania Conference for Women!

To help your day go as smoothly as possible, please prepare yourself by reading the important information below.

Before You Arrive

Please print & cut out your badge (your ticket into the event) before you arrive at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. We’ll provide a lanyard and badge holder, but printing in advance will save time on Conference Day.

With your badge in hand, you can skip Registration and begin enjoying the Exhibit Hall as early as 7am, or go directly to the Opening Keynote at 8am.
*Note: Only the primary registrant has access to print or email badges. If you did not purchase your own ticket, please contact the primary registrant to have your badge sent to you.

Special Meal Requests

The deadline to request vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free special meals has passed, but we will try accommodate late requests while quantities last.

Main registrants should log in to the registration and submit individual meal requests there. If you can see the option to specify an alternate meal for attendees, then we are still accepting requests.
If the lunch options don’t meet your needs due to restrictions, allergies or you simply want something different, you may bring your own lunch with you.

Getting There

On October 2nd, thousands of women will converge on the Pennsylvania Convention Center at the same time. We cannot stress enough how important it is to plan ahead for traffic, parking and crowded public transit.

The best way to get to the Conference is to take public transit or a taxi, or to carpool. Jefferson Station, served by all regional rail lines, is connected to the Convention Center.

If you must drive, please carefully study the parking advice on our Travel page. You’ll find maps, prices and even an option to reserve discounted parking in advance!

Please note the entrances for this year are at 12th St. & Arch St. or on Market St. between 11th & 12th Streets.

What to Bring

  • Your smartphone. The newly-expanded PennWomen app will help you to plan your day, navigate the convention center, interact with fellow attendees, and easily follow up with anyone you meet at the conference. Download today & create an account to get a head start!
  • An updated résumé—recruiters will be on site, as will complimentary résumé reviewers and career coaches.
  • Walking shoes! Attendees report getting a good number of steps in during a visit to the PA Conference for Women.

For Your Convenience

You can expect water bottles & refill stations (in the Exhibit Hall), a light continental breakfast (prior to the Opening Keynote session)coat check (on the bridge outside Hall A), and dedicated Nursing Mothers’ Rooms in MR 102 and MR 302 (expect privacy, refrigeration and the possibility of a crowd during peak break times). There are also two Mamava Nursing Mothers’ Pods available in the Convention Center.

A Word About Our Sponsors

We want to thank and encourage you to get to know this year’s amazing sponsors. These companies are demonstrating their real commitment to women in the workplace, and we simply could not put on this event without their support.

The Best Way to Plan Your Day

  • At Your Desk: The online agenda is your best bet. Search by time or breakout session track, plus check out Exhibit Hall programming and author signing schedules, or download a printer-friendly abridged version of the print program.
  • On Your Phone: Search “PennWomen” in your app store and set up an account within our official Conference app, sponsored by Cisco with support from Prudential. Save sessions to your own private agenda, check out who will be exhibiting and attending, and interact with other attendees with just a tap, tap, tap.
  • Last-minute, In-person: Convention center doors open at 6:30 am, so you can grab a printed program and highlight to your heart’s content! Exhibit Hall doors open at 7:00 am.

Don’t Forget Your Badge!

You must print and cut out your badge before you arrive at the Convention Center. To print your badge, log in to the registration and click “Print Badges.” If you are not the main registrant, ask your main registrant to email your badge to you for printing.

What to Expect

You won’t regret having a travel plan in place – visit our Travel page for transportation and parking particulars!

The Conference is anchored by two powerful keynote sessions – one in the morning and one over lunch. There are also breakout sessions for you to attend: two between the keynotes and one after lunch. Additionally, there are multiple tech & small business roundtables in the afternoon.

Be sure to build in time to visit the Exhibit Hall, where you’ll find a wonderful variety of mini-sessions, career experts, author book signings, and much more. The Hall is open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Past attendees report that they would have liked to spend more time exploring the Hall and taking advantage of offerings such as Résumé Review and Career Coaching, so please plan in advance!

❦ You’re invited to a wine tasting networking reception brought to you by Fine Wine and Good Spirits from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Exhibit Hall.

We’ve added some attendee-specific questions to our FAQ—check it out.
