2018 Attendees: Important Information for Conference Day

It’s an interesting time to be a woman in America, and next week’s Pennsylvania Conference for Women promises to be a powerful one.

We’ve got leaders, thinkers, and innovators galore coming together for one day next Friday. Prepare to be inspired!

Read on for important logistical information, and stay tuned for one more email from us to help you plan your day at the Conference.

New Entrance for 2018

The main entrance and registration locations have changed!

This year, registration, coat check and bag distribution will all be housed within the Broad Street Atrium, on the west side of the Convention Center. The best entrances will be the Broad Street Atrium Entrance, between Race and Arch, or the West Entrance at 13th & Arch.

Convention center doors open at 6:30 am and the Exhibit Hall opens at 7:00 am. The morning keynote session is open seating and doors to Hall B open at 7:45 am. We’ll get the general session started ay 8:15 am.

Don’t Forget Your Badge!

Your badge is your ticket to the event. Please print and cut out your badge before you arrive—we’ll provide the badge holder and lanyard. You’ll find instructions for printing and emailing badges in your confirmation letter. Only the main registrant can log in to the registration and email badges. For questions about your registration, please contact [email protected]

Seating Assignments. You’ll find your table assignment for the keynote luncheon on your printed badge. Seat assignments are strictly enforced. The morning keynote is open seating.

Parking Particulars

We encourage you to think about your travel plan—and back-up plan—in advance. The best way to get to the Pennsylvania Convention Center on October 12th is to take public transit or a taxi, or to carpool. Jefferson Station, served by all regional rail lines, is connected to the Convention Center.

However, if you must drive (or have organized a carpool, you go-getter!), please carefully study the parking options and advice on our Travel page. You’ll find maps, prices and even an option to reserve discounted parking in advance.

Special Meal Requests

Although the date has passed to guarantee a vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free meal, we can accommodate a few more requests, while quantities last. Please log in to the registration to check availability of special meals (only main registrants can login to registration–if someone else registered you, please ask them to check and make the choice for you if it is still available). Click here for a description of the meals.

Newcomer’s Guide

The PA Conference for Women is a BIG event with a lot to offer, so last year we put together a short video to help newcomers (and old friends) navigate their day.

We’ve updated it for 2018, and you can watch it here.

Update Your Résumé

You’ll definitely want to take advantage of free career coaching and résumé review sessions throughout the day. A printed copy of your CV and some time spent pondering your goals will both come in handy at the Conference! Plus, some of our sponsors will have talent acquisition teams on site. Don’t be caught empty-handed!

Get the NEW App!

We listened to your feedback, and we’re happy to introduce a brand-new Conference app with improved features and functionality to make your conference day a breeze!

Search “PennWomen” in your app store to get started. Click here for more info.

If you have the app from last year and it does NOT automatically update to the new one, please delete and re-download. Be sure to create a new account!

Community Connection Opportunities

Be sure to stop by the Community Connection to engage with local nonprofits, donate to a worthy cause, and learn more about getting involved in civic life.

Please join Qurate Retail Group and Career Wardrobe in promoting the success and independence of women transitioning to work. We invite you to donate your new or gently-used handbags & accessories. (Collection bins will be located at the Career Wardrobe booth in the Community Pavilion.)

Vote the Change you Want to See in the World

We are happy to welcome back the League of Women Voters—stop by their booth and learn about the many ways you can get involved, from registering to vote to education to volunteering in your community.

Considering a run? Swing by the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics to learn about their Ready to Run program and how women are changing the face of civic leadership!

A Note for New Moms

Nursing mothers have three options for peaceful pumping during the Conference: One dedicated meeting room and two Mamava lactation pods.

The Nursing Mothers’ Room will be located in MR 126B, on the ground level near the west end of the convention center.

Mamava pods can be found outside of Hall B (2nd floor) and in the hallway just south of the Broad Street Atrium.
