Elizabeth A. Murphy

Elizabeth A. Murphy is vice president, external affairs at PECO. Murphy oversees the company’s external affairs, including legislative lobbying activities and policy development, economic development and corporate relations. She is responsible for the company’s suite of energy efficiency programs that help customers save energy and money, and oversees the energy services organization, which manages the company’s largest customer accounts. Based in Philadelphia, PECO is Pennsylvania’s largest electric and natural gas utility. Prior to coming to PECO, Murphy was chief operating officer of the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) where she managed the operation of the four bridges along the Delaware River. Prior to her role as Port Authority COO, Murphy was the assistant to the DRPA chairman and the director of the Port of Philadelphia. Prior to her career at the Port Authorities, Murphy was the director of government and regulatory affairs with Roadway Services. She began her career as the transportation director for the Speaker of the New York Assembly. Murphy currently serves on the boards of the Committee of Seventy, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Academy of Vocal Arts, Pennsylvania Conference for Women and the Beltline Railroad. Murphy earned a B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany. @pecoconnect
